So I decided to make a blog. I've not tried this before, so bear with me if I don't appear to know what I'm doing. But I'll learn.
What is this blog about? Magic spells. More precisely, magic love spells. They're something that have fascinated me for years, and now they're becoming more popular than ever. So why not write about them huh?
I guess a lot of the popularity around spells and magic has come about because of the Harry Potter films. Harry certainly isn't the first popular on-screen wizard - there have been various incarnations of the Lord of The Rings books and films, and all sorts of other one-offs. But nothing seems to have captured the public imagination in quite the same way as young Mr Potter.
My kids and their friends are always waving their "magic wands" (old chopsticks - shhh, don't tell them!) and chanting "Expelliarmus" and "Wingardium Leviosa". They're not at an age to question whether or not magic is real.
But I (sadly) am. And I question it a lot. Like I say, I've been interested in the subject for as long as I can remember. I have even used a few magic love spells myself, and I think a one or two of them even worked. But there's always that lingering doubt...did that spell really make Jason fall in love with me in high school, or was it just co-incidence?
I have dabbled in other areas of magic, aside from love spells I mean. The odd money spell (won $10 in a local charity lottery, does that mean it worked?) and even, I hate to admit this, a revenge spell on an ex. Fortunately nothing came of that one. At least, nothing I am aware of. Now I think about it, maybe he has some terrible but invisible disease! No, I don't think a magic spell can really do that. Not the one I cast anyway.
So I guess this blog is my continuing skeptical journey of discovery. A journal of magic. Welcome aboard!
